Michael Twum-Danso

I am a graduate of Wheeling Jesuit University in Wheeling, West- Virginia with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mahematics. I have been teaching Mathematics for 5 years at all grade levels beginning from Elementary School Students through Middle School to High School Students. I have several years experience working as a Substitute Teacher in the New Jersey Public School District System and also working as a part-time Math Tutor for high school and middle school students. Some of the courses I have taught as a high School math tutor include Algebra 1 & Algebra 2, Geometry, Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus, Probability, Word Problems, SAT & ACT Math. Being a versatile individual, I have had the opportunity to teach students who functioned below, on, and above grade level. I have been very successful at accommodating diverse student needs by teaching all styles of learners, offering individualized and extracurricular support, and integrating effective materials. I encourage learning by using a number of different manipulatives, hands-on activities and various forms of technology. Also, by incorporating class discussions, open ended questions and cooperative learning, I am able to facilitate a highly interactive and inquisitive atmosphere. My methodic and quick problem solving techniques has helped many students score high marks in their class tests and standardized tests to enter college. In addition, I utilize weekly quizzes and monthly tests to track student progress, locate areas of weakness and prepare students for final exams.
