Tony Lowe

I’m Tony Lowe, a dedicated educator with a passion for nurturing clear thinkers and confident communicators. My intellectual journey began in philosophy, where I discovered the power of structured thought and persuasive expression. For over five years, I’ve taught language, critical thinking, and philosophy to both children and adults, helping them develop the skills to navigate complex ideas and articulate their thoughts effectively. As the founder of a homeschooling program rooted in the classical trivium, I’ve seen firsthand how logic, rhetoric, and essay writing can transform the way students engage with the world. My teaching philosophy is simple: skills over information. I believe in hands-on, interactive learning; whether through Socratic discussions, logical exercises, or crafting compelling arguments. I also try to imbue my lessons with creativity because each child is unique and helping to unlock their creative potential is one of the best ways to develop their learning and mental abilities. Indeed, there's a tendency to think the logical thinking is grey and dull, but the opposite is true. When we really understand it, creativity is the marriage of reason and imagination; both of which can be encouraged and nurtured across all subjects. Finally, I've been living nomadically for these past 5 years. With my home base in the UK, I've made many excursions across Europe from being a farmer in Italy, to working as an assistant in a Swiss chateau, to enjoying a peaceful stint in the French countryside. I've learned French and Italian and my goal is to one day live in Italy full time.
